A Corporate Retreat in the Berkshires

Every once in awhile, an event comes along that makes us think, “Well, how are we ever going to top this one??” It was such a pleasure to work with this corporate group, who was celebrating not only their first in-person event in over two years, but also the retirement of one of their founders and all-around favorite partners.

When they originally came to me, they were thinking of doing something small…around 60-80 guests in total. We were going to hold just some of the rooms at the new Miraval Berkshires Resort & Spa in Lenox and focus our event primarily at the country home of the retiring partner…a SPECTACULAR property with unparalleled views and insane gardens. But as the planning got rolling, the group ended up at 190 guests from around the world…requiring a complete buyout of Miraval (plus a few other local inns), more than a dozen Mercedes sprinters, five gorgeous tents, four amazing caterers, a phenomenal 20-piece band/orchestra, a stellar production crew of 60 and a partridge in a pear tree (well, not really that last part)!

The 4-day long event really did round out quite nicely. Beginning with a welcome party at the Miraval pool, then heading into day-long meetings at the private estate, poker/game night, investor meetings, farewell luncheons, a plethora of skits at the “tribute dinner” and the most rocking-est party and fireworks show this town has seen in a lonnnngg time.

On the departing day, one of the partners came up to me and said she felt like they had just had a week-long, company-wide hug. I responded that I love when a departing day reminds me of leaving summer camp as kids. To me, that’s what corporate retreats should be about. Seeing different sides of people you work with every day…whether in the cubicle-next-door or over the ubiquitous Zoom session…and not wanting to say goodbye. These days especially, it’s imperative to foster a sense of community within your organization. A close-knit, well-taken-care-of team drives your business to new heights…and Tara Consolati Events want to be a part of it!

Be sure to enjoy this small sampling of images from Dani Fine Photography, the official photographer of the event (there were literally thousands of images from this company event) and reach out to us when you’re ready to bring your team together however it makes sense for you!
