A Fairytale Wedding at Blantyre

You’ve heard me say a time or two just how much I love a Jewish wedding. Fortunately for me, it seems like many of the clients who find me are, indeed, planning a Jewish event. I LOVE the traditions…the seven blessings, the seven circles, the Tisch and Badeken, the ketubah….there are just so many parts of a traditional Jewish wedding that draw me in. And while ALL weddings are beautiful, it just seems to me that the marriage of a Jewish couple is so rich with remembrance, meaning and sheer joy!

This September wedding of Melissa and Mike was one that I wish I could relive over and over. I worked with their families for a little over a year and grew so fond of the entire group. In fact, I formally met Melissa’s brother and sister-in-law at Jen and Daryl’s Tanglewood wedding the year before, so I felt like I really got to know them ALL through the planning process. (And I miss them all terribly….which is a sign of just how blessed I am to have great clients!)

Melissa and Mike wanted their guests to have a true Berkshires experience while they were here for the weekend, so we kicked off the celebration with a Welcome Reception on Friday night at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. In addition to some great food, drink and (amazing!) speeches, guests were able to tour the museum and see some of America’s most well-known paintings by Norman Rockwell himself.

On the day of the wedding, guests were shuttled to Blantyre, a historic Gilded Age mansion in Lenox, and one of the most elegant in the area. The decor was subtle in color—whites, greens and blushes/pale pinks—and super fragrant and lush! Be sure to check out their stunning chuppah…a true show-stopper created by Adam Leffel Productions.

Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests made their way to the beautiful sailcloth tent for dinner and some fantastic entertainment, followed by a surprise fireworks display.

Sunday’s farewell brunch was equally delectable but tinged with a bit of sadness as the weekend had so quickly flown by and we all said our goodbyes. I often say that saying goodbye after my couples’ weddings feels to me like when I had to leave my friends at summer camp. And I guess that’s actually a good thing, right? I’m a lucky girl. :)

I hope you enjoy scrolling through Melissa and Mike’s beautiful wedding photos, captured by my friend and acclaimed wedding photographer Scott Clark.
