A Global Summit in Brooklyn

In April, I had the privilege of working with a lovely group of investors and founders on their very first global summit, held in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. RTP Global UK had recently opened its first US office in Manhattan and was inviting guests from all over the world to experience New York City. At first, the group wanted to host the three-day corporate event in Manhattan; however, after hearing their ideal setup and what they were hoping to get out of the New York conference, we agreed that Brooklyn would be an exciting option, with our three main venues all on the same two blocks, and each of them donning a spectacular view of the skyline.

With just over 150 attendees, we divided the guests between two hotels—The William Vale and The Williamsburg Hotel. Our opening night was a lively rooftop party on top of The Williamsburg Hotel and included a satellite bar/lounge area in their super-cool water tower. The main summit meetings were held on days two and three at the uber-modern, white-box space called XX Venue, with dinner the first night held at 74 Wythe. Each one of these spaces has an industrial/modern vibe and what I loved the most about XX Venue is that you can literally transform that blank space however you see fit, depending on the rentals and florals/botanicals you bring in.

Over the next few posts, I’ll delve more into what (I think) makes a great corporate event…guest speakers, interesting activations, design and setup, etc…and how my goal is always to make the guests (and hosts!) feel at home and thought-of at every step of the way. I guess that’s my own KPI…I truly want everyone to be happy and stress-free. And of course…I want the guests to rave about the event for months and months!
