6 Fresh New Wedding Venues in the Berkshires

Tara Consolati Events New Wedding Venues

Last year, I wrote a blog post titled the Top 10 Wedding Venues in the Berkshires.  The venues I highlighted--Wheatleigh, Stonover Farm, The Mount, etc.--are the ones that our region is best known for.  These are the traditional Gilded Age estates, the historic barn venues, the most-visited museums.  But over the last year or two, we have had new wedding venues popping up all over the county!

This is particularly exciting to me, as a designer, because it's always fun to create an event in a fresh, new space.  And I think it will be equally exciting to our newly-engaged couples because their number one request is usually that their wedding is different from all the others.  I should mention here that having a unique wedding is possible at ANY venue, as long as you're working with the right planner/designer... ;)

Before I delve into these new properties, I also want to mention that this is only SIX of our new spaces.  There are more new wedding venues dotting the Berkshires than ever before, and it would be really difficult to mention all of them.  And if you factor in nearby locations like Hudson NY, northwest Connecticut, southern Vermont or the multitude of private homes, there's simply no way that any couple planning a destination wedding can't find a place that's just perfect for them.  In fact, our team specializes in transforming private spaces into amazing dream wedding venues, so I hope that you'll reach out to us if you have any questions...or think you have an impossible dream!

Anyway, let's get to it, shall we?  Here are our Top 6 Fresh, New Wedding Venues (in no particular order):

Bloom Meadows

Bloom Meadows offers a one of a kind, magical experience for both you and your guests. The rolling mountains that surround the property create an unforgettable backdrop to host your wedding, whether it’s an intimate affair or a larger celebration.

The Bloom Barn is a blend of modern-rustic style, creating a bright and inviting space paired with all the convenient amenities such as bathrooms, heat & air conditioning. White shiplap covers the walls and warm wood accents throughout the space set the tone for a timeless, simple backdrop. Outfitted exclusively for seamless events under 180 guests, wooden chairs and farm tables are included.

They have two private locations for the wedding party to use for getting ready. The Parlor, located in the main barn and the Silo Suite located just outside the barn. Their main ceremony location takes place on the beautifully manicured terraced lawn that rolls into the meadow. Guests can mingle, play yard games and enjoy cocktails on the stone patio while you walk the paths in the meadow for some pretty dreamy wedding photos! All of their packages include a night stay in the Silo.

Lake House Inn

We believe that weddings are more than just a one-day event.  Why not host your entire weekend in one easy, beautiful location??  Book the whole inn for a minimum of two nights and let the fun begin.  Innkeepers Maggie and Cody (who recently got engaged, themselves!) take care of all your worries and needs.

On Friday night, host a rehearsal dinner for your family and friends with an option to invite more guests for a pre-wedding get-together. The couple will stay in their luxurious wedding suite with a bedroom, large living room area (complete with a mini bar, makeup table, and comfy couches for friends and family to relax during the exciting preparations).

Get married on the lawn elevated on the cliff overlooking the picturesque Laurel Lake.
Following the ceremony, a reception can be held on the front lawn overlooking the lake and can accommodate up to 150 guests.

After a night of fun, the only thing missing is a tasty farewell brunch to thank guests and bring your celebration to its perfect ending.

MASS MoCA's new B6: The Robert W. Wilson Building

Now you may be thinking, "I already saw MASS MoCA in Tara's last Top Venues blog post," but the ever-growing museum has added another amazing new space just since last year!

Completed in May 2017, MASS MoCA’s Phase III renovation offers 130,000 square feet of interior space.

With river views, this majestic space includes historic windows overlooking the Berkshire hills, a balcony overlooking the event space, 19th-century mill columns, and hardwood floors. Art by Robert Rauschenberg, Louise Bourgeois, James Turrell, Jenny Holzer, Laurie Anderson, and Gunnar Schonbeck fills the building.

MASS MoCA has some of the most dramatic and creative spaces in Berkshire County — perfect for hosting your special event. The 19th-century renovated factory (they’re on the National Register of Historic Places), is home to an ever-changing collection of contemporary art.

MM offers a multitude of spaces to help you create a unique atmosphere and customize your vision of a special event. Their galleries range from intimate venues to soaring cathedral-like spaces and can host 30 to 400 for seated receptions.

When you choose MASS MoCA, you not only ensure that your special occasion has a stylish cultural edge, but you also support a museum dedicated to the best art of our time.

Camp Lenox

Nestled within the Berkshire Mountains, the residential summer camp sits on 170 acres of well-maintained athletic fields, pristine forest, and sparkling water. Comfortable cabins provide accommodations for up to 350 and the dining hall overlooks the lake, with plenty of room and rustic appeal for 450 guests.

This is no one-size-fits-all event center — the camp leadership custom tailors a unique and memorable experience for each group, based on their needs and size. Professional chefs are on hand to prepare meals and satisfy any culinary preference. Staff is also available to run activities like the ropes course or the waterfront.

Berkshire Lake House Guest Cottages

Set against the backdrop of the majestic and natural beauty of the Pontoosuc Lake, The Lake House Guest Cottages Of The Berkshires offers a unique and intimate atmosphere for your special day making your celebration not just a wedding, but also an experience.

The Lake House is another weekend event venue designed to sleep up to 50 guests and up to 100 additional guests for the day of the event. In total, the property can accommodate 150 guests as an outdoor venue using their seasonal event tent and 60 guests for an entirely indoor event.

Regardless of how your wedding is organized at the Lake House, your special event will be located in the center of the Berkshires, with all of the area’s beautiful sights within 30 minutes of the property.

The Proprietor's Lodge

This event space is so new, they don't even have a website yet!  Recently purchased by the folks who brought us the Berkshire Lake House, this new wedding venue is perfectly situated on an expansive lakefront lawn on Pontoosuc Lake and is a very short drive--or boat ride--over from their other property!

We see this as the perfect addition to the Berkshire Lake House - adding an option for indoor events and larger events of up to 300+ people.
